Paper core used in Nissan Smart House
The Nissan Smart House exhibited at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show is
made mostly of paper cores.
The paper core has a special honeycomb structure and has many
advantages such as being strong with a load capacity of 1㎡/3
tons, being lightweight, short construction time, and easy
disposal. It is used for a wide variety of purposes including
ceiling materials, floor materials, wall materials, furniture, and
other fixtures.

The bamboo veneer for Mizuno’s arrow manufacturing was also developed from this material.
